Zhejiang Province carries out the fist local rule on trade name protection in China

Beginning from March 1, 2007, Zhejiang Province carries out “Recognition Measures for Well-known Trade Name in Zhejiang Province” to enhance the protection of well-known trade name in the province. The measure regulates that Zhejiang Administration for Industry and Commerce takes charge of the recognition of well-known trade name. Any trade name registered by others should not be identical with or similar to those registered well-known trade name unless there is otherwise agreement between enterprises having investment relationship.

“Recognition Measures for Well-known Trade Name in Zhejiang Province”is stipulated according to “Administration and Protection Regulations for Trade Names in Zhejiang” announced by Zhejiang NPC Standing Committee on November 30, 2006 and carried out on March 1, 2007. The previous “Zhejiang Temporary Provision for Recognition of Well-known Trade Name (proposed)” is abolished simultaneously.
