SAMSUNG Suspected in Abuse of LCD Patent in France
On July 20 the French Atomic Energy Commission (CEA) announced bringing an accusation against Korean Samsung Electronics for the latter’s abuse of its liquid crystal display patent.

As soon as the French R&D organization got news about the counterfeit, it summoned Samsung Electronics before courts. CEA claimed Samsung had used several LCD technology patents, including ones based on VA high contrast technology.

CEA said, “We found out Samsung was planning to use CEA VA technology to sell related products in France, without a licensing contract.”

This is just one in a series of CEA attempts to protect its inventions. Prior to this case, it had already filed lawsuits against six LCD patent abusers.
