Top 10 foreign enterprises filing in China published
March 6, 2005Latest statistics from the State Intellectual Property Bureau shows the ranking of top 10 foreign enterprises filing in China in 2004. 6 famous Japanese multinationals are on the list; in which Panasonic Electric Co., Ltd. tops the list with 2,813 patent applications.
Companies from South Korea also have impressive performance. Samsung Electronic Co., Ltd. takes the second place right after Panasonic with 2,371 patent applications, and LG Electronic Co., Ltd. is listed as the No. 7 with 1,164 patent applications. Royal Philips Electronic Co., Ltd. wins the 3rd place for Holland with 1,930 patent applications. The so-called “blue giant” IBM is listed No. 10 with 829 patent applications. Sony, Seiko Epson, Toshiba, Sanyo Engine, and Canon from Japan take the 4th, 5th, 7th, 8th, and 9th places with applications amounting 1,289, 1,075, 915, 898 and 843, respectively.
