Judgment Made on First Instance for Docetaxel Patent Case

After a four-year long trial proceeding, a judgment of first instance on the patent infringement case on anti-tumor medicine Taxotere was announced recently. The case was brought by Sanofi-Aventis, the third largest pharmaceutical company in the world, against Jiangsu Hengrui Pharmaceutical. Jiangsu Hengrui was charged with infringement upon two invention patents of drug Taxotere owned by Sanofi-Aventis. It was reported that Jiangsu Hengrui refused to accept the judgment and appealed to Shanghai People’s High Court on November 9, 2006.
